The difference between wellness and illness is a matter of “we” versus “I.”

At The Massage Space we believe that just as we are multifaceted beings, wellness requires a multifaceted approach, one in which massage plays a vital role. True health is achieved when one is of sound mind, body, and spirit. We believe that mindfully applied massage is capable of addressing all three aspects, however the greatest results are seen when applied in combination with multiple wellness therapies.  

Who is The Massage Space?

Maddi Grette

Maddi Grette received her Associate in Applied Sciences (A.A.S) in Massage Therapy from Northwestern Health Sciences University. She focuses on a clinical and rehabilitative approach with each individual to help prevent injury, return to their passions post-injury, and provide maintenance for their daily aches and pains. She is currently pursing a certification in Neuromuscular Therapy.

Maddi has always been interested in how the human body moves and communicates, dating back to the age of 3 when she forcibly made her mother sign her up for her first ballet class. Prior to massage school, Maddi received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from University of Minnesota, while spending summers enhancing her training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance.
Outside of her career, she loves cooking, baking, drinking wine, and trying new food.  When she’s not enjoying “the finer things,” Maddi loves taking photos, going to yoga and dance classes, and working on house projects.

Kristen Wertenberger

Kristen is an NCBTMB licensed massage therapist.  She attended the Soma Institute for clinical massage therapy in Chicago, Illinois and has worked in a variety of settings.  She began in rehab clinics, chiropractic offices, sporting events, and wellness centers.  

In November 2016, Kristen opened The Massage Space.  With a focus on postural restoration and pain relief, her goal with each treatment is to provide a comfortable environment with clear communication, an educated assessment, and soft tissue therapy tailored to the individual.

In her free time, Kristen loves spending time outdoors hiking, camping, biking and generally anything active.  She also enjoys playing the piano and guitar, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
